What is the GroundProbe Geotechnical Scholarship?
We offer a fully funded three-week training program, followed up by site visits to Australian mines for up to four undergraduate students. The program consists of three weeks at our largest Geotechnical Monitoring Centre in Balikpapan, Indonesia, followed by two to three days visiting mines in the Bowen Basin (QLD), Hunter Valley (NSW) or Goldfields (WA). Students will receive advanced geotechnical training and understand how to interpret data on Slope Stability Radars (SSRs) in our Remote Monitoring Centre and on-site.
What will you learn?
During the program, you will work alongside professional geotechnical monitoring engineers to interpret and analyze live radar data from around the world, and experience live slope failure monitoring prediction.

What are the conditions of entry?
You must…
- Be a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student studying geology, mining, or civil engineering at an Australian University
- Be available from 18 November – 16 December 2024
- Agree to participate in a video series documenting the programme, including personal VLOGs
