INTRODUCING: La Ode M. Shaleh: GroundProbe’s GSS Training Manager, Indonesia
Meet La Ode M. Shaleh, our Geotechnical Support Services (GSS) Training Manager based in Balikpapan, Indonesia. With six years of experience at GroundProbe, La Ode has been instrumental in shaping our training programs and leading a team of seven staff. His expertise and passion for knowledge-sharing have made him a key player in ensuring our customers and team members are fully equipped to use our systems effectively.
Q: What is your role at GroundProbe, and what are your primary responsibilities?
I’m currently the GSS Training Manager at GroundProbe. My primary responsibilities involve managing our training programs for our customers and the GSS team. I aim to ensure that these programs are effective, up-to-date, and aligned with our company’s goals and standards.
Q: What are your team’s main objectives?
Our team focuses on increasing the knowledge and skills of our customers and the GSS team regarding our products and services. We ensure users are well-equipped to use our systems optimally. We also continuously improve our training methods and materials to keep them engaging and relevant. Additionally, we maintain a training database for customers and the GSS team, ensuring that everyone is adequately trained, certified, and updated with their certifications.
Q: What specific targets or milestones has your team aimed for and achieved over the past year?
Over the past year, we’ve developed and maintained a comprehensive training database for customers and employees and updated our training materials to keep pace with software developments. One of our significant achievements was conducting the first SSR Data Analysis In-house Regional Training at our Balikpapan Remote Monitoring Centre, open to customers and the public.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
I originally joined GroundProbe as a Geotechnical Engineer, where my main focus was providing remote monitoring and data analysis to help make mining safer and more productive. In my current role, I still contribute to safety, but I also empower our customers to use the system effectively, especially in data analysis. What I enjoy most is sharing my knowledge with others and meeting new people—both of which are key parts of my role.
Q: What does leadership mean to you?
Leadership is all about inspiring and empowering others to reach their full potential.
