INTRODUCING: Antonio Rocha: GroundProbe’s Head of Group Business Development

Antonio Rocha has played a pivotal role in shaping GroundProbe’s success and expanding its global reach for over a decade. Based in Tucson, Arizona, Antonio brings 26 years of experience in the mining and technology sectors to his leadership role as the Head of Group Business Development. Fuelled by a deep passion for the mining industry, his journey with GroundProbe began in 2013.

“Business in the mining industry is my passion. It’s where I’ve spent my career and it’s what drives me daily.”

Antonio’s primary focus at GroundProbe is identifying and developing new business opportunities while ensuring the highest level of service for existing customers. Over the years, he has helped GroundProbe establish a strong presence in key markets across South America, including Brazil, Peru, and Colombia.

“When I joined GroundProbe, our Brazil Business Unit was small, with just four people. Today, we have more than 100 colleagues. It’s been incredible to see the team grow and thrive over the years.”

Under Antonio’s leadership, GroundProbe has not only expanded its footprint but also introduced innovative solutions that have revolutionized the industry. Some of his key achievements include:

• The first successful use of SSR radar to monitor a post-collapsed tailings dam
• The massive implementation of solar solutions across GroundProbe’s fleet
• The development of RGR-Velox, a radar tailored to meet specific customer needs.

Antonio is particularly proud of GroundProbe’s dedication to its customers:

Before joining GroundProbe, Antonio held various roles at Vale and Maptek Brazil, where he gained extensive experience in mine planning, consulting, and technology solutions. His diverse background has been instrumental in driving GroundProbe’s growth and success.
