INTRODUCING: Ahmad Amiruddin, Coordinator – Geotechnical Engineer, Indonesia
Meet Ahmad Amiruddin, who has been an integral part of GroundProbe for the past seven years, contributing to our growth and success. Based in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, Ahmad began his journey with us in July 2017 as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer. Through his dedication and hard work, he has risen to the position of Coordinator – Geotechnical Engineer.
Ahmad’s career began in open-pit coal mining operations at PAMA KIDE, where he honed his geotechnical engineering skills over two and a half years. In September 2019, he transitioned into the role of Geotechnical Engineer at GroundProbe, where his responsibilities expanded. He provided remote customer support, analyzed Slope Stability Radar (SSR) data, and participated in global monitoring projects using GroundProbe’s advanced technologies, such as the SSR and Geotech Monitoring Station (GMS).
Now, as Coordinator, Ahmad manages a geotechnical team focusing on remote monitoring projects in the Asia-Pacific (APA) region. He oversees team performance, ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met, and delivers technical and advanced training to clients across the globe. Ahmad also conducts Geotechnical Awareness sessions, helping safety and mine operations teams prepare for geotechnical challenges. Additionally, he regularly coordinates meetings with Indonesian clients to ensure the highest level of monitoring performance and planning for critical areas in mining operations.
One of Ahmad’s most significant achievements during his time at GroundProbe has been the opportunity to work closer to home, allowing him to balance his professional and personal lives. This change has had a positive impact on both his career and his well-being. Ahmad is particularly proud of his role in providing early warnings of potential landslides in mining areas, knowing that his work directly contributes to the safety of workers and the efficiency of operations.
Reflecting on his time with GroundProbe, Ahmad fondly recalls the supportive environment he found from the very beginning. More than just a job, GroundProbe has been like a second family to him, where he has received constant support from the team.
Ahmad Amiruddin’s journey at GroundProbe is a testament to his commitment, expertise, and leadership, making a difference not only within the company but also in the broader mining community by helping to ensure safer and more efficient operations worldwide.
