Meet Pingkan Mirah, Junior Geotechnical Engineer, Indonesia

Pingkan Mirah joined GroundProbe as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in June 2023. Her dedication and enthusiasm quickly propelled her to a promotion as Junior Geotechnical Engineer in April. With a career goal of becoming a geologist, Pingkan has found both joy and purpose at GroundProbe, contributing to a mission focused on making mining safer worldwide.

Pingkan’s journey is as inspiring as her professional achievements. After completing her thesis in early 2022, she returned to her hometown in North Sulawesi, where she took on the role of Youth and Tourism Ambassador. As part of Nona Manado and Noni Sulawesi Utara, she collaborated with government bodies on various initiatives including environmental protection, youth empowerment, education, and sustainable tourism. This role also allowed her to engage directly with Indonesian leaders on key issues—an experience she treasures.

Reflecting on her time at GroundProbe, Pingkan shares:

“Over the past year, I have felt immense joy as I unlock new skills daily. Being trusted with the responsibility of making mining safer on a global scale is incredibly fulfilling.”

Pingkan expresses gratitude for her manager, Mas Dwi Prio Utomo, Coordinator Geotechnical Engineer, whom she considers an inspiring leader and mentor. She also acknowledges her GroundProbe Indonesia and Geotechnical Support Services (GSS) team, saying:

“I’m truly blessed to be part of a remarkable team filled with extraordinary people whom I look up to. I look forward to learning, growing, and making memories with GroundProbe!”

Outside of engineering, Pingkan recently represented her home province of Sulawesi Utara in Miss Indonesia 2024, earning the title of Miss Indonesia Sulawesi Utara and securing a place in the Top 15.
